About Dave

Background

Dave earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Howard University in 1968 and has been a registered architect in the Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia area since 1971. As an architect he has designed a variety of commercial and residential projects, but for the past 30 years he has specialized in Aquatics Design, with over 8 5 swimming pools, water parks, and Natatoriums in his portfolio. These projects are in towns and cities throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Most recently, he was the designer of a specialty pool built in Casablanca, Morocco.

Experience

Dave is well known locally for his home portraits and renderings, bringing his knowledge of art, history, and architectural detail to these delicate projects. While he primarily paints portraits of homes located in the Washington, DC Metro area, he has over 500 Home Portraits in his completed projects list, including homes in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, New York City, Long Island, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as England, the Bahamas, and Spain. Several of Dave's Home Portraits were early choices as part of the "Drawing for Art" program at The Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland.

The Past Ten Years

Dave has expanded his artistic repertoire to include portraits of children and pets. As with the Home Portraits, Dave prepares his illustrations from photographs, which he prefers to take himself. Framed artwork is available, if requested, of all portraits, for the cost of materials only.
